I am so honored to announce that my first novel, Love’s Illusions, has been chosen as a finalist in the Georgia Romance Writers, Maggie Awards!
The Maggie Awards are one of the most prestigious competitions for romance books. Established in the 1982, these awards are judged by booksellers, librarians and editors, and receive national attention. I entered the contest on a whim, never thinking that my first writing attempt would actually be seriously considered. After entering I promptly put it out of my mind. Then on July 1st, a number I did not recognize showed up on my caller ID. Hesitantly I answered thinking I would be dealing with an unwanted sales call. Once Anna introduced herself and started talking, it took some time to register in my mind… yes, I had entered, but… seriously… me… ? And she was saying that many best selling, big name authors had entered… that the competition, especially in my category, Novel with Strong Romantic Elements, was tough. She was congratulating me… holy shit!
The winners will be announced at the Moonlight & Magnolias banquet on October 1, 2016. Yes, I’m going and my daughter will be coming with me. I’m not kidding myself about winning, but the fantasy is almost as good as reading the perfect Romance Book!
