I want you all to be the first to know – I finished the first draft of Book 2 yesterday! Now it’s on the editor, so I anticipate an April / May release.
During the last 13 months, I have written two complete novels, published the first one and am trying to learn the ins and outs of marketing a book. It’s has been an unbelievable experience, filled with emotion and wonder at what is possible if you’re willing to put your mind to it.
But by far, the most satisfying aspect has been the reception Love’s Illusions has received so far. As of today, it has an average rating of 4.9 on Amazon, including a 5 Star review from one of Amazon’s Top 500 reviewers! In my wildest dreams, I never imagined that happening.
Attempting to write a book fills one with self-doubt. While I was working on Love’s Illusions, I wondered if I should publish it or not – would it be good enough for anyone to spend their time reading?
Now I’m sitting here wondering if the second book in the series will live up to whatever expectations I’ve created in my readers and myself. Will it be good enough?
Book 2 picks up a year after Jackie leaves Michael standing on the street corner in Chicago. Filled with hope for a story book future, life shows Jackie and Michael that there are still many obstacles to overcome, especially in the turbulent times of the mid-1970s.
Book 2 still does not have a title! If you have any suggestions, please send them on. Finding the right title is almost harder than writing the book!
